Carpenters Cottage, Elton in the Peak District

Had a glorious 40th birthday stay here with my fiance. The cottage is wonderful and had everything we needed. The bed was soooo comfortable and the logburner/front room was just so beautiful and cosy. Cant recommend the local walks enough...the local pub is fantastic and met some really nice people in there & learnt dominoes with the locals! Parking to the property was easy and Matlock isnt far for supplies. Mike (the host) was lovely and we honestly had the best stay. We'll definitely be back. Elton was like stepping back in time & was stunning to walk, enjoy and visited the church. We are looking at moving to Derbyshire in the future & Elton is now on our list! It really is wonderful. Cooking in the cottage was great, had all supplies and little welcome goodies was appreciated. Couldnt fault it. Walked Kinder Scout in our trip and it isnt too far to access. Bakewell is also close. Definitely a trip I wont forget. Will be back! (Top Tip: if you like Thai food the Thai restaurant in Matlock delivers to the property and the food was out of this world. Not the cheapest, but was probably the best thai meal I've ever eaten!)

Only 1 slight niggle was the temperature of the hot water...it never got hot enough to use the exceptional bath regularly( but it was a very cold period when we stayed and snowed, so was probably down to the freezing temperatures)!

Loved it, amazing, cottage was lovely, everything was well-thought, honestly I'd love to live there :) We had a great time with missus and the dog, village (Elton) is also very cute not just the cottage, it's almost like time's stopped there, had dinner at nearby pubs and were also very very happy with that. Just got back home to London now and sat down to write this. Thank you so much.

All was great

This was our fourth stay at the cottage. It’s such a relaxing and cosy getaway. You need to have a car as there’s not even a village shop. The log burner is delightful and the kitchen adequately equipped to cook for the two of us.

We now take a blanket as we don’t like to keep heating on at night but sometimes need an extra layer in the early hours. Some things in the kitchen weren’t quite as clean as in previous visits but nothing that a quick wash didn’t sort.

Great Views, nicely decorated, Spacious House with a real fireplace. It was a great place to have some time off but we had a different agenda :(

There is no parking in front due to the narrow road. You have to park a bit far on the road. It's not a fault of the property but this should be made clear in the listing.

The cottage was so cozy, was lovely throughout. Location was beautiful

Cute and cosy old cottage, ideal for a romantic getaway. Log burner was a bonus, and the bathroom was gorgeous, with an amazing view. Kitchen was fairly well-equipped and the washing machine came in useful. Excellent central heating system.

The only thing lacking was some decent, private outdoor space for summer months. Parking could be a problem in the busier months too.

Everything was great thank you, lovely location and cosy cottage.
