Carpenters Cottage, Elton in the Peak District

Lovely little cottage, cosy but set up with everything you need! Great location and incredible view from the houses.

Elton is a lovely little town. People are very friendly.

Cottage has a number of maintenance issues that need to be addressed. The cottage was very musty and smelly. Carpet and sofa are dirty. Mould on walls.

Cute cottage in a tiny town

No backyard area. The washer was my biggest issue, the clothes came out soaked every time even if I ran a drain and spin cycle and then it was difficult to get them dry with the limited outside space

The location was fantastic. The woodburner was fabulous as was the view from the amazing bath! The beds were comfy, the cottage warm. The drinks left were a nice touch.

Nothing major however, the back left hob doesn't work, the milk was frozen solid and therefore unusable for 24 hours. Whilst it was stated that there was no outside space, it would have been good to know that the neighbour has a right of access across the rear of the property and frequently walks past the kitchen window.

Cottage was very comfortable. Had everything we needed. Bathroom was great with the option of bath or separate shower cubicle. Beds were comfortable. Ample storage in the bedrooms. Sufficient utensils and crockery in the kitchen.And lounge very comfortable with blankets provided if needed. We didn't need to light the log burner but would imagine in the winter it is a very nice cozy addition to the lounge. The views from bathroom and bedroom were amazing!

Where do you start, it's an excellent place to stay, we could have stayed a week, welcome pack was perfect, views from the back of the cottage are stunning from the kitchen, bathroom or bedroom. Miles of excellent walks in the area even though it had rained heavily. Oh the pub.... you do have to visit, I've never become a local so quickly. We will be back

mmmmmm nope... nothing. I've added a picture Of Outside but not the cottage.. it was the walk we did, the stream changed its route to to the footpath via the gate.
