Kyo no oozora KIHANA

We had a wonderful stay here, close to everything, public transport, supermarket, family mart and private. Bath was divine and worthwhile, especially after a full day of walking and sightseeing. Yasaka Shrine at your doorstep and great to walk around Gion District! Easy process to get keys from office, the ladies were lovely. About a 15-minute flat walk, with luggage, from Kyoto station.

Property was clean, well maintained and has good privacy. Staff was also very responsive. Shared that it was our honeymoon and they decorated the place and provided a small bottle of complimentary wine.

For check in, it had to be done at a location separate from the accommodation. It was abit troublesome as we have to travel to 2 different location with our luggage but think its standard procedure for such traditional townhouse. No luggage storage service available after check out. So had to travel to Kyoto Station to use the coin lockers.

I loved everything about this house. The location was perfect! I would definitely recommend staying here.

The space was high class! High ceilings, beautifully decorated and the washroom/bath area was top-tier. The location is down an alley off a Main Street, walking distance from Yasaka Shrine. A touristy area yet you were away from the business of the tourists.

The only suggestion I would make for guests of the property is to take a taxi from Kyoto Station to the office building where you check-in. We walked and it wasn’t a pleasant experience with all our luggage. However, once you get to the office building, they provide you with a taxi to the location you stay.

The apartment was beautiful, traditional and had a very warm home-like vibe. We loved coming home to this little abode every evening. The host is wonderful and goes above and beyond to provides you with everything you need during your stay. We loved staying in this area and will definitely be back again!

The check-in procedure is a bit inconvenient, having to walk from the train station to the reception is a bit difficult with larger luggage. Nonetheless, it’s still a central location, 5 minute walk from Kyoto station.

Great location in Gion. It felt you were a local. Excellent access to transportation. Good access to shops and restaurants.

Temperature management in the place was a nightmare. Cold on the ground floor - hot on the upper floor. No hooks in the bathroom to hang anything. Pillows were average - no choice of firmness.

Privacy, Design, Comfort, Location.

Nothing.

Everything! The place was lovely and we truly felt like being a part of Kyoto in a traditional setting. Location was excellent as it was close to many highlights as well as the train station. The staff was excellent and extremely helpful. Loved our stay!
