Perfect Stay Near the Pagoda! You genuinely couldn't ask for a better location! This spot puts you right by the most iconic and historic pagoda, and it's just a quick stroll to some of the area's best shrines and temples. The area itself offers a ton of places to rent kimonos, and it's super convenient to be so close to home for a quick cool-off when you're overheating. The building itself offered a fantastic window to authentic Japanese housing while still feeling wonderfully updated. Five stars!

While the location was fantastic, there were a few areas that could be improved for a more comfortable stay. The beds were quite firm, and the initial supply of pillows and covers was limited, requiring a wait for additional items to be brought over. Additionally, the lack of regular trash pickup was a notable inconvenience; with a limited amount of places for collecting and storing three days' worth of trash for five people quickly added up.

We loved that there was so much more space than a hotel room, that the rooms were a mix of traditional and western, and the location was simply superb, right in Gion.

A small lounge would have been great but otherwise we loved it!

Hangulatos, 5 főnek tökéletes, közel mindenhez. A személyzet nagyon rugalmas és kedves volt, könnyen el lehetett őket érni. A szállás teljesen felszerelt, könnyű bejutással. Papucsokat és hálóingeket biztosítottak az alap piperecikkeken kívül.

The machiya was fantastic. Such a wonderful experience to stay there in such an interesting and atmospheric part of Gion. It surpassed all my expectations. There was attention to detail, everything was so carefully planned and it was very well resourced. The staff at reception were friendly and accommodating and I would recommend staying here. I thought three days would give us a taste of living in a machiya but it wasn’t long enough.

Most nearby restaurants close early. Fortunately there is a 24hr supermarket.
