Kiyomizu Shukuba

This is an amazing place and Chika-san is an amazing host! We stayed for 5 days and it served as welcome retreat after miles of walking each day. Everything in the apartment is so thoughtfully considered, clean, and cozy. Chika gave us so much helpful information and was very responsive if we had any questions or needed help. It was really a perfect stay!

Our stay at Kiyomizu Shukuba was wonderful. The host, Chika was so helpful and she answered all our questions. She went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. The location was great for us. It’s walkable to the downtown area and was easy to get around via bus, taxi, and train. The area was lively during the day but quiet at night. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Kyoto and would absolutely stay again. Thank you, Chika-san for an amazing experience!

Our time here was nothing short of magical. This wonderful place, hosted by the incredibly kind and attentive Chika-san, provided the perfect base for our Kyoto adventure. The house is within a pleasant walking distance of the stunning Kiyomizu-dera Temple, yet close enough to the subway for easy exploration. Best of all, its windows face a quiet area, ensuring deep, restful sleep on the traditional futon. Immaculately clean and meticulously designed, the house had everything we could possibly need. We were greeted with a lovely welcome plate of fresh fruit and water—a small gesture that made a big impact. Having an entire house to ourselves (yes, even though it was a rental! 😊) was a luxury: a spacious bedroom, a cozy living area, a fully-equipped kitchen, a serene tea room, and practical wet zones with a washing machine. We felt truly at home, away from home. Our host, Chika-san, was exceptional. She was thoroughly prepared, passionate, and took the time to explain everything. She went above and beyond to make us feel like her most important guests from the moment we arrived. In summary, if I could give a rating higher than 10/10, I would. We (both Daria) wish you all the best, dear Chika-san. If we have a chance to come back, we certainly will, and we will of course recommend this place to our friends.
