The view over the sea is really exceptional. Our host Gisela was very friendly and helpdul, gave us a lot of tips and asked everyday if everything is ok. We felt very welcome.

There was nothing negative.

The overall accomodations were excellent, spectacular wide view and landscape to Velas village and to Pico, very near Velas, the house was very clean, the kitchen fully equipped as well as the bathroom. The host was very friendely and always available for any kind support.

"We feel in love st first sight with Gisela, the cottage, and Sao Jorge - home of my grandfather."

Geisela is amazing - she treated us like family. Incredibly romantic cottage. Spectacular views of Pico. We ate our meals on the porch in incredibly picturesque surroundings. The only negative was having to leave.

If you don’t catch a taxi, the way up to the houses is terrible and exhausting!

The road to get to the location is a bit steep, very manageable but something to be aware of.

The property was very well appointed, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Gizela is wonderful; she facilitated an early check, gave us great guidance on what to do on Saõ Jorge and helped booking taxis (which can be challenging on Saõ Jorge). Overall we really enjoyed our time here; was too short!

As mentioned in other comments the hill up to the property is a beast! Only take it on if you have minimal luggage and are fairly fit! My husband and I climbed it from the port with back packs and thought we’re reasonably fit, you will definitely still feel it! We walked it each time from Velas as taxis are hard to get without prior arrangements. Be ready for the hill or plan ahead your taxis. Nonetheless, don’t let the hill stop you booking. The view across to Pico is gorgeous, accommodation great and Gizela is wonderful.

"Wonderful days at the balcony of Velas"

Wonderful stay and great location 120 m above Velas opposite of Pico. Very warm welcome by Gisela and her husband. Great silence and calm as everywhere on the island. Healthy excercise to walk up after dinner.
