Pontone on the sea apartment

The view really is spectacular

First off. If you are trying to stay in Amalfi. Do not stay here. You have to walk down 30 minutes of stairs everyday or take a bus for 20 minutes just to get down there. Then to add on if you miss the last bus (which makes it so you can’t stay in Amalfi past 10) to go up you have to go up stairs to get there for say about 45-50 minutes of non stop stairs, extremely inconvenient. The bed felt like I was sleeping on the rocks on the beach most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Then on top of that when you pay for the apartment they toss on 70 euros for “electrical and water” that wasn’t explained before. Just to top it all off you have to stay in the apartment right above them so you can’t stay up late or make to much noise. Again the view is spectacular but I’m just not sure it’s worth it for the hassle to get up there and the price.

The place is very beautiful with spectacular view of Amalfi! There was everything we needed, fully-equipped kitchen and we were greeted with some snacks, which was very nice and thoughtful! Maria and her family were amazing hosts and we totally recommend staying with them! One of the evenings she brought us homemade frittata ❤️ It is a little bit difficult to find and there are a lot of stairs, which is typical for this destination. Maria settled our parking spot for us and we had no problem. Pontone is very small and it is located above Amalfi, there is a bus line, but all in all it is better to be with a car. If you don’t want to use transport, there were stairs leading down to Amalfi (around 15-20 minutes). Thankfully they had a lift for our luggage, so we didn’t have to carry it all the way up. We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely come back!

Amazing view, clean and beautiful apartment with a wonderful host

The apartment is small but we had all we needed. The view is stunning. Maria and her daughter were very helpful. Her expresso coffee with a dash of lemon and zest was delicious. The bus is convenient to go up from Amalfi centre. The stairs leading down to Amalfi centre offer good exercise and close view of the village life.

If you are told (like my husband) you need to bend your head when going to bed which is the upper part of the apartment.

Maria provided us with very specific details on how to get to the property. Her husband met us at the bus stop and took us and all of our luggage to the property. They even had a really nice luggage elevator to lift everything up to the property. She gave us a tour of the property and showed us how to use everything.
