Blackhill Farm Cottage

Location

It is a rural location with working farms around it , it is a farm road for a few miles however this was made clear before i booked it.the cottage was exactly as described had everything we needed comfy beds,wi-fi,fully fitted kitchen good outside space. Car is required and is only 20 min drive to city centre

Perhaps a couple of signs on the road leading to the cottage and one on the cottage just to confirm you are on the right road I was beginning to think i was on the wrong track .

Disappointing was the lake.. it's in the picture with a description about fishing but actually it's far away and you can't go there. You have to take your rubbish to the car and drive a bit to dump them , as a family of 6 we had a problem with placing them in the car with all belongings. The cottage was a bit dusty , linen and towels could be more taken care of.

The location was excellent, only a short distance from the A9, and not far from Perth or Pitlochry. Very peaceful, and we enjoyed hearing owls at night and spotting hares and grouse in the surrounding fields. Also good for star gazing at night as there is so little ambient light there. Our young dog also benefited from the enclosed garden at the rear which gave him a safe place to run about in. Beds were really comfortable, kitchen had everything we needed, and it really was a home from home. Our host David was very attentive to any queries we had and we felt well looked after.

The location was superb, so so quiet, 1.7m down a farm track, the only traffic seen/heard was that of the working farm, very very infrequent. Cottage itself a comfortable 3 bed farm cottage, 2 double beds, one twin room, open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area, David (the owner) supplied logs for the wood burner (we did have storm Dave arrive over the weekend). Strong shower (always good)!!

I don't think there's anything I would say 'didn't like'.. perhaps a couple of little things, and I mean little that need attending.. table in the kitchen needs a bit strengthing/attention, but did it detract from the week, absolutely not!! All in all, a great property.

Absolutely nothing

Very quiet location with beautiful scenery (despite the terrible weather!). We wanted to take our dog away from the fireworks and it was perfect for that. The bed was very comfortable and the place overall felt very homely. Would happily come back and stay here again.

Some minor repairs/ maintenance needed Could do with more oven pans
