Blackhill Farm Cottage

Property is clean, well equipped and set up well to house a family/ number of people. It’s remote- down a long farm track so if you want to be away from it all but within driving distance (10/15mins) of local facilities this is a big tick.

The downstairs bedroom seems colder than the rest of the house. There is heating that does warm the room, we felt we needed it on over night in November as it’s minus temperatures and to be fair we are not use to this sort of temperature in a stone built building. I’m sure the locals would have thought it was tropical ;)

Liked the rural situation suited our purpose of keeping nervous dogs away from firework noise. The cottage is comfortable with lovely furniture however the level of cleanliness was appalling, and a lot of things were needing replaced ie old microwave making electrical crackling noise, flooring in kitchen broken and hazardous We had stayed here last year snd the floor was broken then also the mould round the bath but we overlooked this as other things were ok. So it was really disappointing when things were worse this year.

Lovely, peaceful surroundings and everything you needed to feel at home

Pleasant place away from it all but close enough to tour the sites. Loved the fireplace.

The rooms were a good size.

We thought, after reading all the many rules of the house, we would find it in prestine condition. Sadly not! We found some plates put away, but with food still dried on them.... The couches had stains all over them, much of the house was very dusty.... I could go on.... I think it's perhaps time to find another cleaner! I could have complained at the time, but what family wants to ruin their holiday by hauling the owner in to point out various short-comings? We left early.

A wonderful place to spend a quiet relaxing week. The house is located about a mile down a (well surfaced) farm track in the middle of crop fields with only one other house in sight. It was a real luxury to have a whole house to ourselves! The kitchen was well equipped. Amazingly given the remote location TV and WiFi worked very well. Bed was comfortable. Whole house was spotlessly clean and warm despite the cool summer weather. There is a range of shops within a 15 minute drive so no need to feel isolated. The surrounding Perthshire countryside is very beautiful.
