Hidden Gem Retreat in the Heart of Payson

The house

This was located in a cozy little neighborhood. All the extra special touches provided made for a extra special stay.

Front patio was nice and comfortable for a group of six (although there were only five chairs on the patio so we had to use a chair from the dining table).

The home is divided and shared with a suite (3-bedroom one side, studio? on the other). The walls are PAPER THIN. From 10:00pm past midnight we could hear every word of the conversation of the other renters through the walls. Backyard gate was inoperable from the front. We had to reach over and open from the inside. The grounds were a dirty MESS, and very neglected. Should the tenants want to use the backyard, they are not allowed on the back patio, as that is reserved for the suite guests. It would be very awkward to share the same space, as there is NO PRIVACY whatsoever. Nothing in the yard was in clean usable condition so we didn't even entertain the idea of trying to use the backyard. There is no oven (only a countertop mini-oven) in the three-bedroom unit. A/C is controlled remotely. Both nights the A/C increased to 78 degrees. Much too warm to be comfortable. The absolute worst part of the experience was the communication following our check-out. We were texted stating that the dog had made a mess of the room and there were dog poop stains on a blanket. (The dog had his own bedding from home. The blanket was not used, as the temperature inside the unit was too warm at night.) I would happily take responsibility for any dog damages, and was completely shocked to recieve a text with false claims. I understand it's a case of he said/she said, their word against mine, but there was never an attempt to clarify or seek understanding. The fact is, I was falsely accused and threatened with action of "filing a complaint" with booking.com. I asked to speak with the owner, so we could discuss and resolve the concerns, but only received text messages. I was told that housekeeping took before and after pictures of the furnishings, so I requested to see the photos. The photos were never received. This whole experience really felt like I was being scammed by the owner, wanting to get more money for something that never occurred.

Everything..this home is great...we are 3 older ladies that like to cook, shop and have our wine....this home is safe, comfy and very welcoming....we have stayed before and will be back

Porch and owner was readily available for any questions/concerns.

Kitchen is very usable but some kitchen essentials need upgrading or replacement. Measuring spoon and cups.

Location was easy to find. The layout of the home was smooth and comfortable. The hostess supplied bath products and a foot bath that we didn't use. The front porch was comfortable, shaded with appropriate seating. Interior furniture was comfortable.

I was disappointed that we didn't have access to the fireplace nor the back patio. I must have missed that in the description that we would not be able to use those facilities. Kitchen was missing a few things such as mixing bowls, cleaning cloth to wipe surfaces and an oven. Beyond the hostess's control was the traffic in front of the house (very busy intersection). Also it's difficult to provide pillows that meet everyone's comfort, but these were terribly too stiff for me.
