We had an amazing stay at Tina’s cave house in Matera. Matera is such a unique and special place and we completely loved the house! It is in a great central location to walk everywhere but still very quiet and private. It is one of my favourite places I've ever stayed and we would definitely come back. Thank you so much Tina!! :)

I loved everything about this property. The owner, Tina, thought of everything. We had food in the refrigerator, food on the table, snacks, treats, bottled water, slippers, robes, extra towels, and I could go on forever. All the amenities you need in a lovely home with the charm you would expect for a home in Matera. You get a sense of life long ago but with comfort. You can’t go wrong here. It is now on my list of top ten places in the world.

I loved everything.

The location perfect for wandering around Matera. Host Tina was very nice and helpful in any situation, always available on whatsapp. The accommodation is really beautiful and very nice decorated and clean. There was offered stuff for breakfast, cookies, lemon cake even if we didn't hire accommodation with breakfast. A lot of kitchen equipment, the whole place very spacious. A little patio outside offers you a nice place to have your coffee or breakfast. We really enjoyed the stay.

Tina, the host, welcomed us, at the door. She is one of the most amazing people we have met. Her cookies, and all the little extra goodies, were a lovely touch. The house, in the heart of Matera, was spotless and we felt like we were in our little castle. Tina was extremely helpful. We will sure return.

We appreciated the cleanliness, the decor of the place, the location. The apartment is very well stocked for everything you may need, and the owner is very helpful and welcoming.

What not to like? A real, beautiful, well-located grotto experience in the heart of Matera’s historic old town. The accommodation is beyond stunning, both inside and outside. Our stay in Matera was full of zen, magic, love, and beauty. Also Tina, the host, was most gracious and generous. She filled the house with fresh traditional cookies, focaccia, cake, and much more. It felt like we arrived at grandma’s:) We will be recommending to friends and family to stay here whenever they visit Matera.

Tina was such a wonderful hostess! We love staying in her cave house. Everywhere you looked it exuded charm and warmth! Tina had foccica bread for us, lemon cake, water and all the condiments if you wanted to cook.. She reconfirmed our city Ape tour and called a taxi for us when we left..

Tina is an exceptional host. From her warm welcome, including explanations of how everything worked, help with a taxi to and from the bus station and for a half day visit to Alberobello, to a local guide, were all part of the package she provided. The location of Il Tempo Retrivato, a cave apartment, beautifully renovated with everything you need, is outstanding! Easy walking distance to the historic centre, dining options and location, location, location.

This unique cave-themed boutique stay embodies a sense of comfort that greets you the moment you open the door, almost prompting a joyful exclamation! The thoughtful decor, along with the array of amenities, and the friendly yet elegant assistance from Tina, all contribute to a perfect experience. My husband and I are even tempted to extend our stay for a few more weeks! Despite being located in the heart of the ancient city, the convenience of reaching various attractions is matched by the serene environment, free from the hustle and bustle of crowds. Parking outside the historic city is easy and reasonably priced. Having stayed in around ten different guesthouses and hotels during our five-week journey through Italy, this one definitely stands out as a favorite – a genuine thumbs-up! The rooms are adorned with charming items and decorations, as well as books and art albums that tell the story of Matera's history – all of which are worth exploring. We appreciate the fresh bedding; it's so clean and comfortable that we enjoyed a restful night's sleep every night! Should we find ourselves in Matera again, we wouldn't hesitate to choose Tina's guesthouse once more. With its ancient and mysterious atmosphere, Matera feels like leaving the Earth's surface and landing on the moon. Your beauty will forever remain in our memories.
