The place with the view was amazing. Waking up with the view of the lake was super nice. Nice modern appartment with all the amenities.

The lake flies at night. Nothing dangerous, just annoying.

Quiet neighborhood away from the middle of town but very easy to get to all the attractions. Wonderful lakeside view. Kayak adventure on the lake was fun. Unit was well equipped and very comfortable.

Poor wifi

The house is about a 10min drive from downtown Rotorua and down a quiet street. Check-in was easy (got the keys from the lockbox in front of the unit). The unit itself provides a pleasant view of Lake Rotorua from the room and outside porch. Although the space isn't huge, it is comfortable for a couple and feels very large with the floor-to-ceiling windows. There are several nice amenities, including designated parking spot on the driveway, bathroom heater, and mini kitchen with refrigerator. There are kayaks available, but we didn't use them because we felt that the lake waters were too rough. We appreciated the guidebook, which also cautioned about potential kayak capsizing.

The main issue was the washer. We had asked the apartment manager if the washer was fixed (since we read another review saying it was broken) and were explicitly told that it was working. However, when we arrived at the unit, we saw a sign saying it was broken and to ask the upstairs permanent resident to borrow hers. Since we weren't able to coordinate with the upstairs resident in advance, we had to wait around until her washer was available to use. That said, she did let us use her washer and even provided laundry detergent.
