The Barn, rustic country cottage dog friendly

It was cosy and comfortable and in an ideal location for exploring the coast and all it's attractions. We would recommend and would stay there again ourselves.

There wasn't really anything not to like but do watch your head in the bedroom

The Barn is in a great location, away from the noise and surrounded by nature. The kitchen is equipped with everything you may need/want, and more. Very nice from the host to leave some coffee, sugar, fresh milk in the fridge and some local biscuits (which we bought plenty more of to take home!). Plenty of cleaning products too which is always handy. We had an issue with the bathroom washbasin as it was completely blocked and could not be used on first day and following morning which made the arrival a bit uncomfortable however, I reported it and the gentleman living next door promptly sorted it, which was great. All in all a very pleasant experience and stay.

There was not anything that we did not like, it was a positive experience however, I would suggest to work with the cleaning team and ensure some key areas (bathroom) are cleaned and serviced better. There is a bit of clutter throughout the cottage which we found a bit random and too personal but that is a subjective matter. Also, the guest book with instructions should be revisited as it dates back to 2017 and with the WiFi signal being unreliable, it would be good to have access to updated info about the area.

No Dog friendly area to exercise, just a lane. Alternative bedding would have helped as the bedroom was very warm, and duvet very thick. Adjoining door to a general utility area- needed the blind down. Busy farm, no outside area to use.

Excellent location for visiting Whitby, Robin Hood's bay etc. but out of town so felt like our own little bolt hole. Very cosy, warm (in January!), and comfortable stay

We loved everything! The cottage is beautiful and is equipped with everything you need. The bed was amazing, sooooo comfortable!
