South View - 3 bed modern Chester house - Close to city centre

For us, travelling from the Isle of Man and Xmas shopping, the location was fantastic for the retail park 0.7 miles away. And the city centre, 10 minutes walk. The house was lovely warm, facilities excellent. Kitchen and utensils etc fab. Lovely, clean and tidy. The kitchen and living room fab. Key lock to enter building great. It was quite and safe and a few eateries around the area

We stayed for 4 nights, the two beds upstairs were uncomfortable. In the front bedroom, the mattress was newish but it was quite thin so I could feel the hard slats underneath and woke up with a sore back each morning feeling like Id not slept. The back bedroom mattress was older and my 70 + year old mum could feel the springs popping through. Could definitely do with investing in good quality thick mattresses as this let's it down. Otherwise it would have been 10 out of 10

Pleasant and comfortable stay. House was very cozy and comfortable for our short stay Heating was excellent We had everything we needed in the house It's a easy walk into centre of Chester and very near shopping complex Would stay again

Parking can be difficult as nearby streets are busy

Property was close to city centre, very modern, warm and some nice walks nearby. Bus stop outside, chippy on corner & pub/restaurant close by. Reasonably priced for 2night stay.

As with other comments, this property needs TLC, every room needs freshly painted as there are a few marks (some damp patches) on walls/doors. First bedroom downstairs had a musty/damp smell, bedframe needs tightened as it creeked with every turn. Tv in room but no remote. Kitchen would benefit from a new bin & fridge. Good supply of cleaning products. Back Bedroom upstairs would benefit from a new mattress as a spring is sticking through making it uncomfortable. Bathroom big & clean but had mould on wall & tiles need regrouted.

Close proximity to the city centre, well-equipped kitchen with nice little extras (i.e. biscuits/ coffee pods), spacious bathroom and bedrooms. Host was responsive and friendly.

Trying to find on-street parking nearby was a little difficult at times.

Great location, some lovely take aways and cafes right on your doorstep. The house is lovely and has all you will need. The massive rooms are nice and warm. James communicated well and was very helpful

The location was good for walking into Chester with very local shops, take aways, dog walking park and river walk. The garden was secure for dogs. Free parking can be found on surrounding streets but not always as its very busy.

I was sent a code in advance by booking.com but apparently this wasn't the code for the lockbox at the property. I called the number provided and they said they had sent it in an email which I hadn't recieved. Unfortunately, it was pouring with rain and we were left standing in the rain trying to open a lockbox with the wrong code and then trying to get through on the phone. The property was booked for six people and we were only given one key. Not enough comfortable seating in the lounge for six people. No lock on bathroom door - singing was required! A bench was provided which was broken and dangerous to sit on. Only five forks provided for six people and no spatula or bread knife and one frying pan did not work on the induction hob, which was ridiculously complicated and for which there were no instructions (so there went breakfast - although there was a posh coffee machine and three champagne buckets!!). The house was damp and in need of redecorating in many places. The upstairs smaller bedroom mattress has the springs coming through and was very uncomfortable. There were only two outdoor chairs provided - but the property was advertised for six people. The shower pan drain is blocked and nearly overflows every time someone showered. There were no smoke alarms or recycling facilities. No cupboard space to store the food we brought with us and the fridge is tiny for six people or four or two..... No where to hang damp towels except on radiators in our rooms. No TV remote in the one bedroom which had a TV. No physical information pack. More suitable for four people (and put in extra living space and another toilet!) and a few small inexpensive changes would make a huge difference.

Location was great to explore the city. Everything close by and easy to walk to

Looking a bit tired. We managed but utensils and equipment in the kitchen was limited. Shower doesn’t drain well so a quick shower is all you can have otherwise it overflows
