Rose Cottage by Coast & Country Stays

My family & I went to Rose Cottage every year when I was young so it was a real nostalgic experience. I loved what the owners have done with the property.

The only criticism I would have is of the main bathroom shower as the temperature was impossible to get right. It was either freezing or scalding.

The cottage and the location

Kettle dripped. Not keen on distressed furniture. Extractor fan not working in bathroom.

Another cottage accessed their property via our garden, hence couldn’t let our dog of her lead

Very comfortable. We all slept wonderfully! The location was perfect with the local amenities and also to use as a base for checking out the wider area.

We sadly had many wasps in the cottage and could not work out where they were coming from. We cleared over 30 each day. There were dirty pans and utensils which had clearly been missed.

Lots of space for a family of 5 and our wee dog. Comfortable and had everything we needed. Great location for exploring the north east.

Not much outdoor space but close to the beach so you don’t need much of a garden

Location was really good, with the Craster Arms, Beadnell Towers Hotel and The Salt Water Cafe as almost neighbours. Beaches are accessible through short walks. The property was easy to find and access. Presentation was immaculate and very comfortable. Bedlinen was crisp and seemed new. We all slept well. Having two shower rooms made life very convenient. The kitchen is well equipped for self catering and the sofas are comfortable for relaxing and watching tv. Mobile phone service was unreliable, though we easily logged on to wifi. There are many places of interest within short car trips. We included Alnwick Gardens, Holy Island and a fabulous 3 hour boat trip to the Farne Islands.
