Blue Sky Cottage

Really well equipped, comfortable bed and great shower. Easy walk into Matlock and can also walk from your doorstep out into lovely surroundings. Communication with owner was excellent. Would happily stay again.

Comfy with everything you need for a home from home stay. Great location for local restaurants and bars as well as great walks and tourist attractions.

Met all our requirements and more.

Everything was fantastic, spacious little cottage and great location being very close to the town center. The bathroom was a huge plus.

Limited TV options but by no means a deal breaker and very minor point as far as we were concerned.

Excellent location. Cute little cottage that was homely and comfortable. Upstairs has a huge bathroom and bedroom, and the bed is the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in! Stone throw away from shops, parks for the dogs and local pub and chip shop. What more could you need 😊

Parking is tight but we managed it … just! Thankful to have free space though so not a negative - just a heads up for others.

Perfect location. Really well presented cottage. Actually met the owners who allowed us to drop off baggage hours before arrival time.As we wanted to go exploring and even given directions from owners. We used train station which is so cheap to go into the bustling Matlock bath. Highly recommend the Red lion just across the road from cottage.

Really big bath and shower. Cottage is actually quite big.snall court yard garden which is nice and private. Bike access is also available to garden parking for a small vehicle right outside cottage which saves a small fortune.

The property was in an idyllic location,close to amenities and also in a beautiful spot.the property was spotless and everything you required was at hand

The location was good. Close to local amenities. Walking distance to shops, bus/train station. And good for getting buses to other places.

The cottage has an awful smell! I honestly don't know how this cottage has good reviews. As soon as we walked in, the smell hit us. I can't describe what it is, but it's overpowering. I'm not sure if it's fusty, stale smoke,wet dog, or all. We had some cleanliness issues when we first arrived. The fridge was dirty inside. The curtain had a brown lump on it, not sure if it was mud or poo. The cushion covers on the sofa also had what looked like poo on, and there were cobwebs and dead spiders all around the cottage. The floors are filthy. Which i think is where the smell is coming from. The carpets in the living room stairs and bedroom are visibly dirty. The lino in the kitchen you can see should have parts that are cream, but it's black with dirt. We contacted the owner he did apologise and refunded us some money. He also asked the cleaner to go back in the day after, but when we got back, all that had been done was the curtain. The cottage ruined our stay. If I hadn't booked and paid for days out, I would have gone home, and we couldn't find anywhere else to stay. We tried to stay out as much as possible because we couldn't stand the smell, which left us exhausted, but we also couldn't sleep at night because of the smell. We felt dirty when in the cottage. The walkway directly outside is very busy and noisy, but we had to leave the windows open for fresh air. There's a funeral business just in front of the cottage, which was drilling and banging most evenings. All in all, I hated the cottage, we had been really looking forward to our stay in matlock, but this did ruin our stay.
