Great location. St Ives is beautiful.

We had really high hopes for this place as it was advertised as a hidden gem in a great location, so you can imagine my disappointment to find out on our second day that the shower was leaking into the neighbour’s property below, when my shower was abruptly interrupted by the neighbours shouting and telling me to turn the shower off. Upon messaging the hostess, she rang me up on the defensive telling me that the neighbours were at fault and it was nothing to do with their property. She informed me that they’d had a surveyor check the property and nothing was found. After then being warmly welcomed into the neighbour’s property after my husband having a chat with them and me being upset, and seeing the damage caused, I impartially wholeheartedly agree that the fault lies with the owners of this property. They are completely denying any responsibility which leaves the neighbours in a very vulnerable position. Having been in this situation myself, I am very upset - not only regarding my own stay but I also feel the frustration that they must be experiencing. We examined the shower basin from the neighbour’s room through the wall which they have partially taken down. It has insufficient support and is unstable, therefore leaking into both the shop and one of the rooms of the elderly couple’s property, which I am told has been in their family for several generations. They even have to move stock to stop it from getting damaged and can’t do anything with the adjoining room until the problem is rectified, which they are keen to fix. There is also the visible presence of black mould which poses a health risk to both the neighbours and the occupants of this property. I was offered a partial refund for the inconvenience from the hostess but it felt wrong accepting it directly from her so we went through booking.com. If you have a conscience please do not book this property whilst they are having a legal dispute.

location is unbeatable, kitchen is well stocked with cutlery and stuff.

1 toilet roll for 3 people staying for 2 nights. Owner asked to buy own toilet paper which i guess is ok but would have been good to be aware of before hand. No privacy in the sofa bed room if sleeping there

"Cosy St. Ives hideaway."

Location is excellent, right in the centre. Lovely window seats, ideal for relaxing with a coffee out of the posh machine supplied.

It was ok for us, but access could be very tricky for anyone with mobility issues.

"Great location and very quaint but some issues."

6.0

It was beautifully furnished, lots of good comforts provided and in a great location.

I rang the contact number provided for help twice and no one rang me back, still haven’t! It was cold and I couldn’t access the heater in the lounge as it was located behind a large couch. Might be worthwhile to let people know that it is impossible to get a medium sized suitcase up the stairs, had to leave it downstairs and bring up my items from the case!
