Lake House - Te Anau Holiday Home

Straightforward check-in, and the property was even larger than we expected. Spacious enough to comfortably host our two families without ever feeling crowded, especially with young children. The big backyard was perfect for the kids, who spent the majority of our holiday playing outside until late (with the sun going down around 9–10pm!). Meanwhile, the adults could sit on the deck to relax, supervise, and enjoy long conversations. There are little homely comforts, such as a boardgames and books that made the wet days just as entertaining. As did the spa, which we didn't get too much use out due to windy days but was nice once we did. The home was easy to warm when needed, but also cooled very easily as well which was perfect for the hot days. The kitchen and dining area were a great size, which we really appreciated as not many properties we’ve stayed in can accommodate larger groups this well. Having two living spaces, limited technology, and being right on the lakefront made the stay even better. To be fair, aside from a quick supermarket trip, we didn’t leave the property simply because we didn’t want to. There were plenty of towels, the washer/ dryer was super handy as was the warm windy days to hang our clothes out. The 3 showers have great water pressure, and there was plenty of storage space. Lots of blankets. We believe there was great care taken in the planning of this build. The lakefront view itself was amazing, but being able to walk and run the track with that view was so peaceful. If you have kids with you, there is a playground about 1.5km if you follow the track left (next to Te Anau Rugby Club). Also, the people we met along the way were lovely and made the stay much warmer. One family travelled from Melbourne, the other from Invercargill and we both believe this was our best joint holiday so far. Such a lush and peaceful space. We all left feeling grounded, relaxed, and absolutely ready to come back as soon as we can.

That we couldn't live here!!! :D After being in the house for a couple days we did notice some of the cleaning standards were not the greatest, and that some minor maintenance made need done on the house just to keep it from getting worse (ceiling peeling etc). Not being able to alter the settings on the spa was slightly inconvenient, however not a biggie. Also, it didn't bother us but because the windows look out to the open land which the public has access to, a lot of foot traffic coming through with people looking in. I just thought I would add this in for those who want full privacy as this main window doesn't have a curtain. The top bunk beds weren't made, also not a biggie to us, but may be for people who unable to make them themselves.

Absolutely beautiful house had everything we needed. Great layout for a group of 7. Beds were very comfortable there was 3 bathrooms which made it easier for all of us. The view was incredible we wished the weather was better so we could’ve sat outside and enjoyed it. Would highly recommend this house to anyone travelling to Te Anau.

Spacious, lots of good facilities and amenities, great pantry. House was nice and clean, great views, of the lake and mountains. Nice little hot tub outside too!

Heated floors didn't seem like they worked properly, one of the lights not working one of the showers, heaters in bathrooms not working.
