'Ama'u Lani Cottage

Good location, very quiet at night, got a good sleep with the windows open

We arrived on a Sunday so we had few dinner options. We should have planned ahead I guess to bring food or known ahead somehow that restaurants were limited on Sunday

The place was wonderful. The host prior to our arrival gave us all the instructions we needed and since it was self-check in and we had lot to see, it happened so that we arrived really late in the evening, so that we couldn't see very well where exactly we arrived, but in the morning when we woke up, it was like waking up in a tropical jungle. The view from the windows is just tropical plants and yard, so it feels very secluded and special. We had the whole house to ourselves, which was awesome. The place is so nicely decorated that I took some extra time to take it all in - wall decorations, paintings, photos. And of course it is very close to the national volcano park which is a huge plus!

I wish we had more time to enjoy all the perks and amenities the place had to offer, but our schedule was tight, so I'm sad we got to spend so little time there.

parking area wasn’t clearly marked, dehumidifier was very loud in the bedroom, the large bottle of shower gel was empty, twin bed mattress wasn’t very comfortable

Perfect location and very responsive host. Property is equipped with everything you may need. It’s very quiet too.

It was good for visiting the National Park. In the national park, you can buy tickets and then visit the park again, so it was convenient to stay in this hotel close to the parks.

I was a little shocked there were a cluster of tiny dead insects that seemed to be from a long time ago. I knew it was an old house in advance though. The price wasn't cheap, so it would be nice if they could improve it so that the washing machine could be used.

A massive entire property, that was quiet, tranquil and had all the amenities for cooking, washing and cleaning.

A little more attention to detail with cleaning, especially bathroom and kitchen.

Great cottage that’s incredibly close to Volcanoes National Park! Fantastic location! Two bedrooms were wonderful. The house is very private, almost like being in a jungle around you but it is a neighborhood. (Houses aren’t very close together) There’s a great restaurant nearby and easy to go up to the two Volcano House restaurants for dinner too because it’s so close. The host even provided coffee and creamer, which is really thoughtful! We had a wonderful time!
