'Ama'u Lani Cottage

So close to the National Park and restaurants and a grocery store.

This cottage is cozy and comfortable -- like your grandma's house! The location was great for our exploration of the National Park and Hilo. We appreciated the break from our sterile resort on the west side of the island

While cozy, some amenities in this cottage are well used and could use a refresh. In particular the pans were challenging to use given their condition. I'd also note that this property isn't ideal for anyone squeamish about sharing space with tropical creatures! We were visited by a few critters during our stay--which added to the charm, be it may turn off others.

It was cute and small.

Not enough channels to watch on tv for my child.

The Cottage is very nice and has pretty much everything what is required. The bed were compfy and the kitchen was well equipped. The bathroom was also good. There are also laundry machine and dryer but we did not use it! The cottage is quite remote, which is nice for some, but not so nice for others. The small shop for snacks and so on as well as Volcano National Park is just a few minutes away!

In general it was very clean but, and I am sure it is because of the area where the cottage is, there were quite a few bugs around which might be an issue for someone.

Great location, super close to the Volcanoes National Park, groceries and cafes. This house had everything we needed and even more. Very quiet and cozy place in the middle of paradise.

The location is close to Volcanos but the street looks a little skeptical (run down area) but the property has a fence and it is quite. I felt safe. It rained while we were there and the parking area got pretty muddy.

Very clean and tidy. Warm and cozy inside. Property manager was quick to respond to our inquiries and helpful.

Shower has an old loose handle that makes it tricky to find where hot and cold water are. The water heater is very small so hot water is very limited. It would be helpful to install a bit larger heater so a family can take showers without waiting for water heat up. Volcano is cold and wet often, and many visitors spend time hiking and exploring the national park as we did, and really wanted a hot shower upon return.

The surrounding with lush greens, and fireplace. Fully equipt kitchen and really nice bedroom.
