Mokulē'ia Beach Houses at Owen's Retreat

Words will not be enough to describe this rare find. We stayed at big resorts and wanted to break up the trip. This place was a dream. Camping with style. It is not the Ritz Carlton, but we loved it more. DeeDee. thank you.

The seaside was nice.

The Pink cottage does not offer what you expect from the offer on Booking.com, in detail: the cleaning in general was not acceptable, the shower is in a very bad shape, the cottage should offer space for 5 people, but there were only 4 chairs at the table, there where not enough cushions for 5 people, the mattresses have a layer of plastic around which prevents you from sleeping (every part that touches the mattress sweats), the mattresses are not even, the sleeping room and the kitchen are the same room, therefore the rumor produced by the old fridge is very annoying, the fridge and the kitchen plates are all rusty, the TV was not working. In short, this cabin is very vintage, offering all the bad parts of being vintage. Additionally, the cabin is situated right next to a very trafficked street, this not being enough, just on the other side is a very noisy airport. According to the reservation we were booked for the orange cottage, right at the beach, not the pink cottage.

Fantastic location, in total around 5 houses located on the beach. Houses are big and beach is full with sea turtles!

The yellow house, where we stayed, is also directly located at the main road. On the other side of the road there is a military base where during the evening helicopters fly from and to, creating a lot of noise and light. Also the property itself was outdated and not very hygienic. Only 1 out of 4 (…) plates of the cooker worked. Also facilities were poor; no locker, no airco, no window blinders. For a place where we had to pay almost 700 USD per night a big, big, disgrace
