Mokulē'ia Beach Houses at Owen's Retreat

We liked hearing the waves, walking out the cottage door right to the beach, the quiet, peaceful atmosphere, and the lack of people on the beach around us. One day we saw more sea turtles than people! We also enjoyed watching the surfers.

Not really a complaint, but lack of space for our clothes. Next time, we will pack less!

The booking was based upon pictures at booking.com. The apartment was not at the sea as shown in the pictures but directly next to a highway which made it a very loud stay.

That the house was very clean and in a good status!

WE provided our own food. Have never experienced a stay so close to the beach!

It is a comfortable place, not fancy, but it fit our needs perfectly. The family owners were as nice as could be.

We were in the tiny cottage at the front, and I emphasize tiny. We did not plan to spend much time inside however as we could literally roll out of bed onto the very quiet beach. We had turtles hanging out every day in front of our cabin, the property was super cool, and they even did such a nice job with recycling. Also, the property was clearly a seafront property as seen in some rusty spots and tired wood, but nobody should be surprised by this being so close to the sea so be sure you let this add to your experience and not detract.

The place lacked any storage, so being that we were in Hawaii for 2 weeks we had 2 large suitcases that took up the entire living room. I would highly recommend changing out the high top table, which anyways couldn't be used because of the lack of space, for a dresser of drawers so people could unpack and throw their empty suitcases in the car.

The Location was what we expected .The bed was comfortable and the shower worked We did enjoy the turtles and Monk seals right off the beach

We certainly did not expect luxury but this place needed a upgrade and a good deep clean. lamp shade rusted out stove was extremely rusted. Hard to have black mugs when there is no dish washer. (covid)TV was a nightmare.

Beautiful location, access to a pristine secluded beach.with perfect sunsets. The caretakers are very accommodating & private. You are almost guaranteed to see wildlife like turtles, crabs, & we even saw a seal sunbathing!

I cannot think of anything I did not love. It was beautiful.
