The Stable with seasonal swimming pool

It has so much character about it. Lots of treasure. I found something different where ever I looked.

It was absolutely fantastic and plesant experience to be John's guests at The Stable! We were warmly welcomed to a super comfortable and cosy and clean accomodation and John was always there for us whenever needed. The breathtaking view from the patio facing the field was cherry on the top. We enjoyed the stay and the logburner made it just perfect and so warm! Thank you so much and we definitelly visit you again!

Location was peaceful and beautiful. Loads of trails around for a walk. Clean and cosy stay.

Lovely couple of nights away in the stable. Great get away. Lovely place, location and hospitality. John was a great host, very relaxed. Would definitely come back.

Great location, rural but not so remote as to be difficult to find or too far from conveniences. Cosy and comfortable, clean and well equipped

Very peaceful location, absolutely lovely quirky stable, beautiful views, very helpful owner. Would definitely stay again. Lots of useful & interesting information in the folder. John had got a lovely fire going in the log burner ready for our arrival which was appreciated. Decent shower. Friendly "neighbours" 🐈 Recommend The Corner House in Ellesmere for a great breakfast as John had advised. Nice for a romantic break, great for nature lovers.

No t-towels or washing-up brush/sponge in kitchen so make sure you bring your own - couldn't use grill as had been left very dirty by previous guests (as had some of crockery). Tiny sink in bathroom. Hot water pressure very poor. TIPS: Bring a large towel or 2 if you're thinking of going in the swimming pool. Don't forget your snacks & £1 coins for the electric meter (though it doesn't take much).

John has been very communicative since before we had arrived. He heated up the place with a strong fire beforehand and, on arrival, met us at the driveway where he handed over the key and told us a bit about the place. John is very friendly and approachable, nothing is too much trouble. We arrived at night, there was tea, sugar, washing up liquid, salt, veg oil and a couple more essentials. In the morning, there were chickens and cats at the door, so so lovely. The shop we went to close by is Aldi/Morrisons which is about 17 mins drive away, lovely country roads. The heated blanket is so great, comfy bed.

Would have loved a mixing bowl and whisk for pancakes, I’m sure we would have gotten it if we asked. More towels available somewhere in the house would be good too, like in a drawer. Again, this is our own fault for not asking; it wasn’t too much trouble, just the only things I could think to make the stay better. The stay is great value for money, I was happy with the price. I would love to stay again!

The stable is a very cosy place to stay. The log burner and decor really adds to the homely feel. It has everything you need to be comfortable. John is absolutely lovely and so helpful! I had my 1 year old with me and he loved the chickens! Would absolutely stay again for the peace and quiet. It's so peaceful.

Excellent communication from the host, very friendly. Very cosy little house with log burner. Slept very well and admired all of the views. It’s quiet and excellent for star gazing! Loved the friendly chickens and cat ! We definitely recommend!

Cosy, some interesting artefacts in and around the property, with a lovely view across the fields. The directions were spot on John, the owner was really friendly and very quick to respond to any requests. It was the perfect base for seeing family who already had a house full, and we will certainly be staying again.
