Haggerston Lola the Lodge and Betty the Van

Had a lovely long weekend at Betty the van. Very comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Great location. Nathalie, the owner, was very helpful.

The only negative i have from my stay, was the overgrown vegetation which blocked the view of the lake when sitting on the balcony.

Lola was an amazing lodge for a family stay. Very spacious and huge amounts of storage which is always a plus when travelling with little ones! Each room had a TV and there were lots of DVDs for the kids to watch which they loved. We managed to connect to Netflix in the living room with ease and whilst we were warned the Wi-Fi may not be the best, we had no problems at all. The whole place was well equipped with everything you may need and lots of extra touches. The outside area was nice and had a good view. The walk to the main site was lovely along the river and only about 5 minutes up the road. Nathalie the host was lovely and very informative. Phoned us on arrival to make sure all was ok and shared top tips which was very kind. You can tell a lot of care and love has went into setting up this lodge and it made for a very comfortable and enjoyable stay. Would recommend!!

Not a critique of the property but play passes are not included which means you need to pay an extra £30 per person just to have the pass to enter the complex and book activities. You then pay for activities on top of this. When we add this onto the price of the lodge for 3 days we were almost at £800 which felt like a lot for a few days at Haggerston. Just a heads up for families like us who's kids want to do the activities etc but wouldn't effect those who are just using the lodge itself. We were informed on check out that we'd damaged the lining underneath the sofa bed. My husband is certain it was like this upon arrival when he was setting it up. I'm sure it may have been honestly missed by cleaning staff previously but was a sad ending to the trip as I assume we will billed the £100 deposit for damages now on top of a pricey weekend stay.
