"Lovely home, ideal base for exploring the area"

9.0

Visited with a group of friends. Rose cottage was a 10 minute walk from both of the nearby train stations and from the centre of Portrush. It's an older property which we love and the kitchen and dining room were lovely spaces for us all to cook and have or breakfasts. We had a delivery from tesco to the house and Lidl was a short walk away so we could top up as needed. Karen, the host messaged regularly to check all was ok , and tried to call to see us one day but we were out. A lovely place to stay. There was 6 of us ladies and it worked ok for us for a few days, the beds were clean and comfy, three of us were upstairs, the twin room up there was ok for us but very small, so just to keep this in mind for the larger group. The only thing that we would suggest if it was possible to improve the home for upstairs would be a toilet and a small sink upstairs to benefit the larger group, but we managed fine with the bathroom downstairs for a few days . There's great transport links nearby, trains and bus links. We visited Giants Causeway, Derry-Londonderry, and all along the coast. Some beautiful places to stop and relax. Swimming in the sea at Arcadia was wonderful too. Thank you. Hope to return in the future.

Rooms upstair were full of bugs and spider webs. Shower hadn't been cleaned in a while according to the pink gunk. Trash from previous guests on the floor in one of the room.

Booked Rose Cottage for our first family break away with our two young kids after being let down with other accommodation and thinking we werent going to get to go. Handy location for Portstewart and Coleraine, as well as the benefit of only being a short distance from portrush town centre, west strand etc. We had everything we needed for our stay and Karen was very helpful, friendly and approachable for any questions. She contacted me immediately after booking to ask if there was anything else we needed for our stay and i really appreciated that attentiveness. Very much enjoyed our time at Rose Cottage, and we hope to return again!

"A very nice cottage in a very good location. Enjoyed our stay very much."

8.0

Host responsive and helpful. Very comfortable beds. Good facilities - practical kitchen, cosy dining area, would have happily stayed longer. Nice front garden and secure rear.

Road noise in upstairs front bedroom. Could use an upgrade to seating in living room. Very narrow gateway. Maybe bring the Mini. Leave the Ioniq 5 at home, or park on the roadway.

"Not a bad location but we wouldn’t stay again."

4.0

Location was pretty good, 10-15 minute walk into the town.

It wasn’t very clean. There was a lot of rubbish including wrappers in the living room and sticking out from under the sofa, a child’s dummy was also lying there. The bins were full outside so we couldn’t empty our rubbish. There was no brush to brush the floor. Dirty dishes, the air fryer, pans, plates etc all needed washed. The window at the top of the stairs was covered in mould! Some man came at 9am and needed in to use a power outlet to cut the lawn??
