The Retreat

Sue and Trevor are excellent hosts. The accommodation is in a lovely quiet location in secure gated grounds. Everything was perfectly clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable, and the shower was powerful and a perfect temperature, once you gave it a few seconds to settle. The washing machine was a bonus, and the boot room entrance was great to leave wet clothes or muddy shoes. The location is perfect for visiting Salisbury, Southampton and various places in the New Forest. The pool was amazing - heated, clean, and surrounded by lovely gardens. We even went swimming in the rain. We would definitely book here again. Thank you for a lovely stay.

We were really disappointed to find out that we couldn't use the pool until the afternoon of the second day, as this was our main reason for booking this accommodation. This is the only reason I can't give 10/10. The sofa bed mattress was so uncomfortable that it would be a good torture device! But we made do with the small foam chair beds on the floor.

Absolutely amazing stay, gorgeous property and estate. Modern,clean,lots of space. I must say the host was so accommodating on short notice and even set up the pool for us. The value was excellent and I couldn't rate higher!

Sofabed not really suitable for over 14 years really. Mattress rather thin even with topper provided. Fine for smaller children though.

This property is perfect. The owners have thought of everything. We loved the sheep casually popping by and the pool was gorgeous.

We loved the pool, access to the animals, the location and the accommodation. Communicating with the owners was super easy and they went out of their way to help. We had a lovely stay including time in the pool, walks in the New Forest, pub grub and a trip to the beach. I could not recommend this any more.

Perfect location for exploring the New Forest. The weather was sunny and dry so we got to enjoy the pool and the beautiful grounds.
