Poachers Bothy

Beautiful location and view. Bed was comfortable.

Heating was not working effectively.

A lovely bothy centrally located for visiting Skye. The hosts were very welcoming. Would 100% reccomend to everyone wanting to visit Skye.

We absolutely loved staying at poachers bothy last week and very much appreciate the high standards the cottage was kept to. An amazing couple of days for our first visit to skye we will be highly recommending poachers bothy to friends and family and also very much intend to return ourselfs :)

The location was great

The heating system it’s a little fiddly but once we got it set it was very good Could do with a bath or a hot tub for relaxing

This was a great place to stay. Spotlessly clean, very good facilities and perfectly positioned for exploring Skye. It's quiet, in a rural area, but a very quick drive into Portree with its supermarket and other shops/restaurants. It is also very central, and easy to travel to all parts of the island. All in all, we couldn't fault it and would happily return on our next visit to Skye.

It's such a small thing that is barely worth mentioning - but a shelf or stand in the shower to place your soap/shampoo would be handy (having said that, the shower is wonderful - the best rain shower we have ever experienced).

The location was only 5 miles from Portree & central for travelling around Skye.

A soap rack in shower & coat hooks in boiler cupboard for drying wet clothes would be useful additions. Otherwise the cottage was very well equipped.

Poachers Bothy was extremely well equipped and thought through. It was very clean and warm and welcoming on a wet and windy day. The owners had really thought about what was needed to make a stay comfortable and easy and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We have no hesitation in recommending it to family and friends and will be happy to book it again.

It would have been helpful to have some more information about shops and restaurants - e.g. where the nearest grocery store/supermarket is and its hours and which restaurants the owner would recommend, the type of food they serve and their opening hours and perhaps the distance from the Bothy. There were plenty of suggested walks but nothing on what to see or do other than that. These are minor things really and do not detract from the excellence of the property.

It's a beautiful place. We had everything we needed and more. The Bothy is very clean and the beds were great. The view was fantastic. Thanks again for the little welcome gifts in the fridge. Definitely recommend. Would love to visit again some day.
