La Palazzata

Loved staying in the heart of Ortigia. Walking distance to everything, it is perfect and a great size for a family of 5.

The A/C was not working on the last night so it was very hot. They told us to pay city tax just before we checked in and it was not noted in the booking confirmation like all the other properties in Italy where the booking specifies that x amount tourist tax will be collected by the property. A heads up upon booking confirmation would be good, or they should note this as a separate item in booking.com

Gorgeous little house tucked away in the old part or Ortegia. Roof terrace was a great addition. We arrived early and the agents were fantastic at letting us have an early checkin, and were very helpful.

It wasnt a problem for us but the steps up to the roof terrace are steep and narrow.

Everything was excellent! Dreamy apartment, perfect location!

Beautful interior with contemporary interventions on historic building and lovely hosts. Conveniently close to talete parking for carrying luggages to palazzata. Sofa and wc on ground floor. 2 bedrooms each with ensuite on first floor with kitchen and dining area, each room with tv. Outdoor area on second floor.

Streets around palazzata are run down but palazzata is beautiful and convenient location makes up for it. Streets are cleaner towards piazzas and tip of ortigia.

Balcony door does not lock and at 2am on Sunday 16th we heard a noise to find a man on our balcony as the neighbour’s houses are literally one meter away We have to wedge a broom to keep the balcony door closed. That’s not a holiday!!! The mattresses are of really poor quality and we’ve woken with sore backs The remote controls for TV’s had no batteries, so we had to replace them We were told we weren’t allowed to flush toilet paper in them, so that’s not very hygienic when you need to put the used paper in a basket, not even a sanitary bin! Remembering its full on summer and the smell is disgusting This was not advertised, or we would not have booked it. We only got one towel each for showering Which doesn’t cut for 7 days There certainly wasn’t photos on there website that showed neighbours so close that they could get into our balcony We unfortunately have no choice to leave the property on Monday 17th July at 10am, as our safety is paramount We request a full refund of our monies.
