Ellers Farm Cottage

Convenient location v near M6 yet not noisy at all. Cute cottage, deceptive from the exterior.

Air fresheners - I wish I’d known about these because I’m really sensitive to such strong smells so spent a lot of the time sneezing. No milk which was a shame - even a few little UHT pots would be better than nothing. Having to strip the beds I felt was a little odd, especially as this then revealed ASDA pillows! Not enough hot water for a bath.

A well equipped, cosy house. We were able to park right outside and Alison even let me charge my EV with my cable through the window for the cost of the units of electricity. We enjoyed the lovely fresh eggs supplied and loved seeing the 2 horses in their stables. The farm is located very conveniently for the M6 as well as Kendal, Morecambe Bay, the Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales. Just across the road, we accessed the Lancaster Canal footpath.

When outside, you can hear traffic on the M6 (but inside is peaceful). Negotiating the farmyard when other vehicles are there can be tricky, but the owners always moved their vehicle quickly if it was in the way.

We stay at Ellers Farm as bought our dog to Kentdale Veterinary Referrals from the Isle of Man The cottage is literally down the road which was extremely handy. Cottage is beautiful and well equipped. The owners are lovely and happy to accommodate requests. Ellers Farm is what it says on the tin, a working farm so please expect that as you are literally metres away from horses and cows which I loved!😊

Great communication & clear directions from the host. Exceptionally clean, lovely decor & comfortable seating.

Very clean and good location! Very close to the lakes. On a working farm but close to m6. Good for dogs as canal about a minutes walk. Pictures do not do this place justice!
