Charming, cosy waterside retreat in Gimingham, North Norfolk

The cottage is beautifully appointed with modern and top-quality appliances. It was extremely comfortable and cool in the recent heatwave. Very attractive. The owners were very helpful too.

Steps within the property could be a problem for someone with mobility issues. I was a little concerned that the dogs could jump over the garden wall and fence and end up in the mill pond. There was also a gap in the fence. I needed to watch them all the time.

The cottage was excellent. Very comfortable, clean and cosy. Well located for guests with a car to explore the North Norfolk coast.

One small gripe would be the internet connectivity which dipped out in the back room. But not a big deal.

Great location for the north Norfolk coast and inland sites such as Norwich. Swans, dragonflies and bats were on the river at the back of the house. We could also take a little walk from the garden which was a secure area for the pooch!

Unsure what to do to recycle glass so took the empties back with us!

The property was spacious and comfortable. Good location

All good apart from a very slight niggle that the oven could do with a clean. Also there was no food waste bin.

The cottage is in the little village of Gimmingham about 8 minutes driving to Mundesley. The cottage is well furnished and the kitchen is well equiped. There a two bedrooms, a large kitchen and living room. The beds are very comfortable as was the lovely large shower. There is also a bath tube in the bathroom but we didn't try it. There is also a washing maschine and dryer. Even pegs and a basket for your washing was provided. Outside there is a huge patio overlooking a little lake with ducks and even swans with their ducklings. Despite the fact that a road and a farm is near by the cottage is very quiet. You just hear the occasional car passing by but you have the feeling that you are absolutely in the countryside. Dan our host left us his phone number in case we need something. He was very friendly and welcomed us upon arrival.

There are two steps into the living room which were very steep for me being elderly and with mobility issues (but Dan found a solution for me). The bedrooms are very small and you have problems putting your clothes away.

Fabulous property finished to a very high specification, loved the decking to the side overlooking the pond. Great location near the coast and not far from the broads, Waitrose about 10 minutes away, what more could you ask for. Will definitely return as soon as possible.

I would probably take a couple of Sun loungers next time as the plastic seats, although comfortable, we’re quite upright.

This is a spacious cottage with high quality facilities and very well equipped. It has a large garden and there was plenty of room to store our bikes. The nearest beach is Mundesley but Cromer and Sheringham were close enough to cycle to. It is also a short drive to the broads. We were very comfortable here and would highly recommend this place. Thank you to Alexandra and Dan for having us and for leaving the prosecco and milk.

Some more mugs would be an advantage.

We had a brilliant stay here, the whole place was roomy and furnished to such a high standard. Exceptionally clean and the bed was really comfy too. Location was great and the views from the lounge and the garden were fantastic. The hosts were friendly and contactable if we needed anything. Very thorough guide on places to eat and visit etc too. Perfect getaway especially being dog friendly 😊 One of the best weekends away we have had. Thank you!

Was difficult to lock the front door.
