Castle Cottage

The whole cottage exceeded our expectations . The facilites were excellent and the property is finished to a very high standard. We all had a very comfortable nights sleep. The location was excellent being directly opposite a very nice Inn and local shop and very close to Harrogate.

There was nothing to dislike about this property, we loved it.

Castle cottage made an excellent base for me and my friend’s 2 night stay. Spofforth is a lovely village and the cottage is situated perfectly for exploring the area by road bike or foot. The host was very helpful and upon arrival, the cottage is very clean and has two good sized double bedrooms (there is a 3 rd bedroom which we didn’t use). The beds are comfy and there are complimentary toiletries and toilet rolls! The kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need. There is a bit of road noise. Opposite the cottage is a shop with a bistro (offering take away eg pizza). There is a convenient bus for trips into Harrogate. Overall we had a lovely stay made by the excellent facilities at Castle Cottage.

There’s no bath or dishwasher but it wasn’t a problem.

Really modern, well equipped and comfortable accommodation. Lounge is bright and spacious, with a dining table too. Kitchen has everything in you need. Bedrooms are a good size, bed and bedding very comfy. Bathroom is modern, clean and spacious. Outdoor areas to front and back. So you can sun hop!

The main road is busier than we'd expected but didn't cause too much bother.

Excellent location near an excellent local pub and bistro. The cottage was very clean, and well appointed. Everything was to a high standard.

The double bed upstairs was on the small side. You need to put the heating up high to heat the downstairs bedroom in the winter months. 17 degrees is not an optimal temperature.

Lovely clean and comfortable property with everything we needed for our short stay. Dog friendly with a small outside area and great walks right on the doorstep. Lovely pub opposite the house, a weekend bistro and a shop selling everything you need. One dedicated parking space which is important due to the location. A really good base for exploring the area.

The property is situated right on the very busy junction in the village which is the main route from Wetherby to Harrogate. Although the village is very quiet the road is exceptionally busy throughout the day. I have been to Spofforth many times so I was aware of it. When inside the house it wasn’t a problem at all for us but it does mean sitting outside is very noisy. We would definitely stay here again despite this.

It was clean and comfortable especially the bed the location is great good food just opposite in the local pub and bistro . Highly recommended 👌
