"Amazing home from home stay!"

Lovely quite location, everything you need for a home from home stay. Phil and Jude were very welcoming, met us at the property, which was a nice touch. Log fire was very cosy on a night. Bedrooms were comfy.

We couldn't find any kitchen scissors :) Sofa bed could do with a mattress topper as very hard to sleep on and has a dip in the middle!

Modern, warm, clean, spacious, it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Friendly hosts. We enjoyed watching the House-Martins nesting nearby feeding their young, sheep and their lambs in a nearby field, convenient proximity to the railway station.

"A beautiful find in a lovely location 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿"

The Arches is a beautiful place to stay, clean, spacious & homely with great scenery on your doorstep, which was great for walking our dog in the woods, nearby to the castle & church. We got a train to Edinburgh, the station is only less than 10 minutes away & 30 min train journey. Gorebridge & Newton grange weren’t too far away either for amenities. The hosts were lovely & helpful too 😊

Nothing, just a couple of things that meant we didn’t give 10/10 - was that the WiFi went down one evening, which considering the location is not a great surprise, but with teens isn’t ideal but Phil was helpful straight away & thankfully managed to sort it in the end. Also the shower pressure of the upstairs ones meant most of us using the downstairs one.

"A first-class holiday property."

Very convenient location, within a few minutes' drive of the A7. And very quiet. Covered parking provided.

Nothing really. The TV worked from the internet (I think - I'm not an expert) and so connection to the programmes was sometimes lost. But I imagine this is unavoidable in this location.,

Property was very clean and tidy. Fantastic for time away with family and friends. It's remote and lovely and quiet, but no problem with a car and less than 30 minutes from Edinburgh city centre and 5 mins or so from local village. Would highly recommend
