The location was great, short walk from the centre of Wivenhoe

It was tired looking, not quite clean enough, the central heating only came on on Sunday morning and was noisy. It’s an old property that’s been painted to superficially look good but needs refurbished. Not cosy.

It was a lovely little cottage that was well stocked with everything we needed. It was comfortable and near to the river and the lovely Wivenhoe. The front garden was a sunny spot in the afternoon. Perfect for a cuppa and a read. Parking was easy. A great weekend break.

Upstairs doors banged so you had to be careful how to shut them in night.

Great location in Wivenhoe. Was convenient as visiting family who lived on the same street. Property was generally as expected with a lounge and kitchen/diner downstairs and a couple of bedrooms upstairs.

The beds were awful- creaky frames, cheap uncomfortable mattresses. Given the cost per night, a small investment in for example a couple of decent beds would make a huge difference.

Excellent location - extremely convenient. Calm, but the main street is just around the corner. The house is very nice and charming, nicely decorated. Ít has everything you need, and everyting works.

There were a few hangers, but a wardrobe or closet would have been good.

There was a problem initially with our booking but this was quickly and professionally resolved by Kate. We had a lovely stay in Wivenhoe.

Fantastic little house, with a properly equipped kitchen for cooking at home. Its a calm space, on a quiet street - I loved that it was tucked up along a short path. The hosts have nailed the "little things" that make the difference - there are a few books, blankets, cosy lighting, but also sensible storage for clothes, food and the like. Easy to live in for a work week. Style and substance :-)

Only downside - the soft beds. I like a firm mattress and neither of the beds was that. That is the only reason I didnt give 10 stars across the board.

TV remote was not good. It was not working properly.
