Quiet position with easy parking, well placed to access the great amenities in Wivenhoe. We had a really lovely stay, despite lots of rain we went for walks followed by a great excuse to go to the pub. We would definitely go back and hopefully stay a little longer.

It is tiny, very cute cottage

It wasn’t very easy to find in the dark, and the next day after a storm, the passageway to the property got blocked by a fallen hedge!

Great location close to the waterfront in Wivenhoe with easy access to local pubs, shops and the train station. It had everything we needed for our self-catering stay plus more!

It was extremely cold when we arrived, and there was no heating on, although it didn't take too long to heat up. I'm not sure if it was the beds or floor boards, but one or the other was noisy when you moved! These are just small gripes as we really did enjoy our 3 nights in the cottage.

Owner provided a full complement of kitchen utensils. I appreciated the cleanliness. The rubbish containers were well marked. the appearance of the cottage is attractive.

Very difficult to see the small numbers on key lock.Dark approach on lane, with "sleepers" jutting into lane. Need own torch for approach. Parking on street UNRELIABLE , we had to search for a space, often far away from entrance. The stairs are challenging/ similar to those on ferries. Steep ,high rise. Manageable , just need to be wary. Radiator in bathroom air locked. Window in bathroom and back bedroom did not close fully. Noise in bedroom if heating system was on. No instructions for use of fire in living room. We did not make conntact with owners on these issues, they did not interfere with us hugely.

Very cosy and sweet cottage. The kitchen is very well equipped and the rooms nicely decorated. The cottage is very close to our favourite pub the greyhound as well as the bus and train stop and the supermarket.

The heating was off and the bathroom window open when we arrived. Luckily the cottage warmed up quickly after we managed to figure out how to turn the heating on.

Wonderful location and have fallen in love with the area. Cottage is very cute and met our needs for our 2 night stay. It was a lovely welcome with the goodies that were left and a wonderful touch to have some essentials in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom with a hairdryer and straighteners. Host is very responsive and friendly and we have already booked to come back near Christmas to see some festivities in the beautiful village.

The stairs were very steep and the shower pressure was a little low but that is understandable for the age and build of the cottage. The mattress and bedding was very comfortable however the wooden bed frame was a little creaky when repositioning in the night. But all is all the cottage is very comfortable.

Quiet and beautiful little cottage in a good location. The beds were super comfy. Liked the little sweets and snacks. The hosts were very helpful. Train station was also close by.
