Hillside Cottage

Absolutely beautiful, full of character and spotlessly clean. Fully equipped, everything was perfect.

Having to leave!

Perfect for the two of us. This cottage is small but every detail is thought about . We were really comfortable. Great shower and bed. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped and the icing on the cake was Sun loungers in the garden.

Parking

Comfortable with everything you could need for your stay. Lovely quiet location but easy walking distance into Wirksworth centre for all the local independent shops and restaurants/pubs. Beautiful views from the front of the cottage over the top of the hill with field of cows, views from the up stairs landing window over the valley. Fantastic sunsets especially if you take a short walk to the very top of the hill. The cottage is on a very steep hill, not a problem for us but probably not the best for anyone with mobility problems. Nice walks around the local area, lots of walking guides and maps in the house for you to use. Driving we easily accessed Matlock Bath, Matlock, cromford mill, Bakewell. We also ventured up into the Peak District park to visit Castleford where the Devils Arse and Speedwell caverns can be found, well worth a visit. All within 1hr to 1.15hr from the cottage. We have visited the area many times before so we new what we wanted to see/do/eat etc but those who don’t lots of information left lets in the cottage and information pack.

We did have a little issue with accessing through the front door (probably due to the change in weather and wood expanding)Tina & Andrew came to rescue incredibly quickly and got us in, then coming back again the news day to completely fix the problem, very kind of them to go to the lengths in short notice to make sure our stay was comfortable.

Great host, lovely cottage and most of all amazing experience. Tiina thought of absolutely everything. Would definitely return. Information pack was really helpful and everything was described well.

The only small thing is that we found it pretty difficult to open and lock and front door.

A cosy cottage in a sunny and peaceful location. Everything we needed for a mini break. Well equipped , comfortable and spotless. Beautiful walks from the doorstep, great views and a sunny garden to sit and chat at the end of the day. Perfect

Suggestion- provide a small stool to be able to access high cupboards.
