Donegal Thatched Cottage

Location was great, property was easy to access and instructions were clear. The cottage is very attractive and spacious and our stay was enjoyable.

Compared to other properties I have visited, there was a very limited supply of toiletries, e.g. no shampoo. The turf fire was a lovely addition but it would be great if the fire was set. There was very small amount of fuel provided.

Thatched cottage is absolutely beautiful. Cosy Fire. Comfy beds. Quirkiness, Cute little windows and authentic cottage. When the heat did come on the cottage was cosy and warm. It was so peaceful and quiet. Great bar and restaurant a few minutes walk away who were very accommodating and welcoming.

We didn't like the CCTV camera at the front door. We didn't like the coin payment for extra heat the amount paid was suffice to cover a overnight stay. Very little kindling for the fire. With the amount paid it would have been courteous to leave enough for an overnight stay. I contacted the host regarding getting more turf and they didn't reply. The heat kept going off. It wasn't on the hours that were stated!

Fantastic property. A lovely modern family area upstairs but the house still keeps its original charm with plenty of room and all the character of a thatched Irish cottage

Nothing everything was perfect!

Nice location, lovely garden, quite spacious and decent facilities in the kitchen.

It was quite dusty throughout, lots of cobwebs and mould around some of the window frames. We didn’t even use the showers as they were a bit old/grubby. I understand it’s an old-style cottage with a rustic feel to it but this felt more like it needed a deeper clean and in some places a bit of work. The downstairs living room was also ver dark, it looks much brighter and more spacious in the photos than it really is.

I have stayed at this property before and absolutely love it. It feels like a home from home now. It is impossible to fault in terms of my requirements. A beautiful older property of great character, which has been modernised very sympathetically, with great facilities. Its location is wonderful for exploring North Donegal, and is a stone's throw from beautiful Carrickfinn and the majestic Errigal. Love it!

The only negative for me is having to leave!

House was clean and tidy, full of character and charm and set in a wonderful location. Very spacious

This property was located well as we needed one night in the area after playing a round at Cruit Island Golf Club. The owners were responsive to our questions and gave detailed instructions on how everything worked.

Location was fantastic and we loved the added child-friendly touches - stair gate and seat on toilet. Great sized property and really suited our family (2 year old and 4 month old baby).
