Everything. Not one fault

The cottage was located some distance from the main house and looked onto the walled garden. It was super quiet and we heard owls and foxes during the night. The building has been beautifully restored. It was warm and cosy during some wild weather we had. Comfy chairs to watch netflix at night, everything we needed in the kitchen to cook dinner. Very central to the area where we travelled to do family history and there were several local pubs and walks in the area. Perfect get away from London.

The location is beautiful even on a wet and grey autumn. Superb layout for our small family, it had everything we needed. Our son really enjoyed it. We had a few personal emergenies which impacted our stay. The hosts were fast responding, kind and extremely welcoming. We'd certainly stay again.and recommend to.others.

Beautifully appointed property set in the Orchard of a large Manor House. Peaceful and relaxing, lovely garden and woodland walk. Feels isolated but not far from Colchester.

A welcome basket would have been nice - as we arrived in the dark in pouring rain it would have been helpful to have some milk to make a cup of tea. We found the local shop in the village - but it was very expensive. However, after that we found supermarkets in Colchester which isn’t far away.

Such an amazing hidden gem! Everything about the accommodation and the setting was above and beyond what we expected. From the moment we arrived and drove into the grounds we were over the moon with our choice and the support and communication from the owners was perfect - from the arrival info to the option of a late check out. We were given a contact phone number so we could always get hold of them if there were any issues (there were none). walking through the grounds of the manor house was a lovely way to relax as was access to a private, heated swimming pool (what a way to start your day!). the fixtures and fittings of Orchard Cottage were to a very high standard and the cleanliness was impeccable. We wanted for nothing while we were there and will definitely be back again. We live fairly local (an hour away) but wanted a change of scenery and feel we got that and more - amazing value for money at the perfect place to unwind
