"Relaxed family break"

Incredibly clean cottage in a nice setting. Cottage decorated in a modern way. Beautiful grounds to explore on the estate. Great location for Colchester Zoo. Use of outdoor swimming pool added something special to our stay.

Places to hang coats would be very useful. We ended just laying them on the floor.

"Idyllic cottage and grounds"

The cottage was absolutely perfect, beautifully furnished and equipped with everything you need. Very cosy and quiet, lots of wildlife around which is a pleasure to watch on a warm sunny evening. The grounds of the manor house are breathtaking and well worth looking around. Some of the pathways are uneven but what do expect from a mature 17th century garden! I would not hesitate to return.

The only thing I didn't like was having to leave.

Adorable, newly renovated and very comfortable and quiet cottage - we absolutely loved our stay.

Some communication mishaps getting access to the property, but that was likely a booking.com issue. No answer at the phone number provided in the confirmation - just make sure you have the access details (i.e. door code) before arrival - no one on site.
