Dandaleith Cottage No.1

The cottage is a fantastic hidden gem near the town of Craigellachie. It is superbly and thoughtfully decorated with almost everything needed to cook and coorie in on a chillie night. The heating is central and very effective, in fact we had to turn it off regularly. The fireplace is also very effective and the host provides enough wood for the first night (or 2 nights if you are frugal with the amount used). The TV has netflix and the wifi is pretty decent. The beds are incredibly comfortable, best sleep we had on our whole trip, note 2 of the bedrooms are upstairs and its tricky to get big cases up there (we didn't try). We loved it and would absolutely stay again, thank you Kevin.

We had some hiccups on arrival but the host was immediately responsive on the number provided and more than made up for it the next day. The location is great but you need a car, its tricky to walk due to being on a main road with no foot path. The laundry is shared and outside next to the adjoining cottage, makes it tricky to use, we also couldn't find a hairdryer. None of this impacted our stay significantly.

The cottage is very clean and too big for us.

Nice renovation, open plan living dining, one bedroom ground floor.

No bath or washing machine as advertised by Booking.com. Window broken, shower did not drain, under bedding dirty and stained, no blind in upstairs bedroom window had to use a blanket, not even a tea bag left for us, some of the plants were dead and crispy still in their pots, broken toilet seat. Communication with owner hit and miss.

Nice inside.

Lack of hospitality.

Grand logement avec deux salles de bain, literie confortable, sanitaires propres, assez bien équipé (lave vaisselle, suffisamment de vaisselle pour 6, draps et linge de toilette de bonne qualité)

Pas de machine à laver comme indiqué dans le descriptif, donc un peu pris au dépourvu pour faire notre lessive, douche du bas pommeau cassé, douche du haut ne s'écoule presque pas, cuisine pas très propre (table sale à notre arrivée), nombreuses guêpes qui rentrent dans la chambre du haut pendant le nuit, sans savoir d'où elles sortent, poignée de fenêtre du bas cassée, pas de volets, des rideaux mais rien pour la chambre du haut donc jour très tôt le matin, pas de bois pour une flambée comme indiqué dans le message d'accueil, et pas évident de trouver quelle maison correspond, car peu d'indication sur le chemin, un petit panneau sur la façade serait bienvenu !

Location was perfect. The cottage was very cute and size was good. The kitchen was beautiful and very well equipped, but there were dirty dishes in the oven and old food items in the freezer.

No bathtub (only showers) and no washing machine as advertised. Bookings.com gave us the wrong key code. It was very stressful as it was later in the evening. We messaged the host but got no response immediately. Then we drove to town for better cell service and received messages from the host with the correct key code. That gave us peace of mind and all was good.

Excellent location, spacious and nice kitchen area for self-catering.

Although not a bad reflection on the property per se, we had no mains water. We were informed that the water cutoff for the last day of our stay was as a result of issues with Scotland Water. Bottled water was supplied, but difficult to shower with a bottle😔

The cottage is very charming, and nicely appointed. Very comfortable, and it was a pleasure to stay in.

The front window needs to be replaced, as it is presently broken. The upstairs shower drain needs to be cleaned, as the shower backs up very quickly.
