The Cottage Wai Rua

Lovely setting with very welcoming hosts. We really enjoyed being in the countryside, amazing trees, gardens, birds and pets.

This place is wonderful. The cottage is private with beautiful view of the mountains. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens and plenty of walking paths. The salt water heated pool is an extra bonus. They also provide everything you could want to prepare your own breakfast including farm fresh eggs!

Everything - the amazing views, the property that is like a little piece of paradise, the breakfast supplies, comfortable beds and lovely interior, friendly hosts.

Great place to stay and unwind in a quiet, country location. Free range eggs and home grown bacon perfect for breakfast. The wood fired hot tub was amazing. The setting of the cottage is beautiful

Stunning property, beautiful views/vistas, amazing hot tub experience! The hosts are super warm and friendly. We stayed twice over a few separate days so we could travel north and back again, it was so nice to know we were coming back to such a lovely spot - Thank you Eliane and Allan for your hospitality, very much enjoyed.

We had a fantastic time! The property was easy to find (good instructions and clear signage), it was very clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Especially loved the wood-fired hot tub! The view was breathtaking, and breakfast (with farm produce) added to the experience of a relaxing farm stay. Elaine was a lovely host and we really enjoyed talking with her and hearing about the farm. If you are after a relaxing stay in the countryside, at a reasonable price, I highly recommend Wai Rua Cottage!

Was a fantastic experience, really beautiful and peaceful. Host is really friendly and lovely. We both feel well relaxed after our stay. 10/10 experience, one of our favourite for our entire NZ trip. Hot tub was great!

Almost nothing because trip was fantastic. The only small issue was pot handle and cutting knives a bit old and loose.

It was a gift to our friends for their wedding; they loved their stay and the experience. I requested some bubbles to be kept for the couple, and the host did it for us. The host was amazing to work with. One thing my friends mentioned that the road, just a short distance leading to the house were delightfully rustic, offering a charmingly rugged journey. It sure seemed the best little getaway present. :) Sorry didn't get photos.
