"A rare gem - Spectacular, idyllic Northland farm estate!"

The very first word out my mouth upon arrival was “STUNNING! “ Wai Rua is 80 acre farm/estate of absolute idyllic beauty; neatly maintained grounds, with floral highlights present whichever direction one looks. The “cottage” is a misnomer; it is a spacious, fully equipped small house! Kitchen must have every possible modern appliance; the main room is well furnished and extremely comfortable; in the bedroom the king bed is irresistibly relaxing. The whole unit shows off custom installed wood paneling throughout. Then there is the deliciously heated (!) swimming pool with area to lounge before & after.Did I mention the sweet companionable house cat Poly? Hosts Elaine and Allen were warm and hospitable as if faraway family members from the first minute. In short, they were gracious folks through and through and first rate conversationists on your choice of topic…

Not a single flaw. After 7 prior visits to NZ, I can vouch that we have never visited such a wonderful property! Period.

Breakfast was amazing. Host adorable. Property so gorgeous. Animals fantastic.

Around the hotiub. Needs to be tidy. Build a wooden box to hide the plastic tubs so it allnlooks tidy and natural around the hotubs. And then thees a place to pop you towels etc on. Would really lift the experience. Otherwise was really fabulous. That's just a tip on how to improve

"PEACEFUL GETAWAY"

Organic bacon with fresh range eggs, the breakfast was super nice ! Scenery, birdsong,hot tub, and Mr Pig.Also, grass seeds for our birds at home. Really, it's a nice place to relax

Directions coming and going into the property could have been better.Got little lost when leaving the cottage. The short gravel road was sort of okay.
