The Dunes Resort 80 & 69

The resort was lovely. Theres a beautiful beach a short walk from the accommodation which has a viewing platform (we saw a dolphin surfing on the waves) with picnic benches and shower facilities. The resort has 2 swimming pools but unfortunately due to the time of year these were abit too cold, but I'd imagine in the height of summer these will be lovely. There is a cafe on site but we didn't use it however it looked very nice and one day they were cooking on the braai. We stayed at accommodation number 69 and had full use of the house which was really comfortable. There's 2 bedrooms, 1 with a big double and the other with a double and a single. There's 2 bathrooms and an open plan living/dining area. It was very nicely decorated and we felt right at home. There's a lovely garden area with a braai which we made good use of and when sitting in the living room you can open the doors on to the garden and if you're lucky you might get a little feathered visitor looking for some crumbs .. this little fella kept us entertained during loadshedding. You need a car to get to this resort, but with a car Plettenberg Bay is approx. 10mins - 15mins away with access to all the activities (we went whale watching, scuba diving and swimmjng with seals), amenities and restaurants (the fat fish is amazing) All in all we had a lovely stay and we would highly recommend.

There was limited cleaning products which for a 1 or 2 day stay would be OK, however we stayed for 4 days and made good use of the braai only to find there wasn't any scouring pads to give it a good clean ( sorry about that but we did the best with what we had ) I also think because we've stayed just before the main holiday season people were carrying out maintenance on their properties. We had roofers one day in the house next door then the other property on the other side of us was having air con serviced so there was quite abit of noise. Whilst we appreciate this is not the fault of our host it did have an impact on our stay. It would be useful to have a map of the resort as we had to ask security and a helpful resident where the pools and beach were.

We had a fantastic stay. Everything was clean and comfortable. The kids loved the pool and play area. My husband and i loved being outdoors in the garden and the outside braai area. The location was perfect everything was in close proximity to the restuarants and beach.

The resort is kept in a spotless condition, walking distance from your own private beach and friendly staff. Unit had backup supply for WIFI (during loadshedding) and could keep everyone entertained during the rainy day.

Had an issue with the DSTV but the agent was able to assist us. We had some loadshedding and unfortunately there was no portable backup light or matches/lighter in the unit. We had a big cold front and there was no means of additional heating, so it would be advisable to bring a small heater if your staying during the wet season

Location and comfort was good.

After a long trip , there wasn't any tea/coffee. For a Self-Catering unit these should have been supplied.

Location is excellent. House was very clean and neat.

Everything was very good, but I think you can do a bit more regarding loadschedding. We sat in pitch dark the whole Friday evening. Perhaps you can change the bulbs to rechargeable loadschedding bulbs.
