The Hermitage

The property was spotlessly clean, spacious and felt homely and had everything we needed for our stay and was in a great location. The hosts TJ & Adam were so lovely and we were given complimentary freshly cooked scones on arrival with cream and jam that tasted absolutely delicious, thanks also for the bottle of Prosecco. I love the garden so much, a lot of work has gone into that, it was lovely looking at all the beautiful flowers and plants. I would highly recommend Hermitage to anyone that wants to explore and visit North Devon. Thanks again for the lovely stay TJ & Adam. We would definitely return again in the future😊

The garden was magical, our hosts were very friendly. We had fresh scones baked for us on arrival.

It was peaceful, quiet and had everything we needed. The wood burner was an added bonus. It was so cosy. TJ has made it feel like a real home away from home. The added snacks and coffee were very much appreciated.

The cottage is lovely and walking up through the gardens felt like a little fairy passage, which was just lovely! We wish we had more time to enjoy the cottage and gardens it self, unfortunately we were all quite busy!

The whole experience starts from walking up the path which winds through the interesting garden. This is the perfect Hermitage where I got away from my routine working week to unwind. I only watched TV once so that’s a good thing. Everything I needed was here. It’s really cosy and comfortable. The location is handy to walk into town, or it’s easy to drive to Bideford and beyond. Great for dog walking. Friendly locals. The owners, TJ and Adam were really helpful and friendly. We’ll be back for sure. ☺️

TJ and Adam gave a warm welcome on arrival offering to carry our bags and show us into the cottage. Tj had made a beautiful welcome pack with cream tea and gluten dairy free biscuits for myself with prosecco ! We loved the extra touches of towels n toiletries. The sky n Netflix was a treat as we don't have this at home. Very quiet location can walk on Torrington commons nearby. Would visit again and recommend.

Ideally we needed an enclosed garden for the dogs and a two bedroom cottage

We loved all the little features and games. My kids (3 year old twins) particularly liked that it was like a secret garden.

There was nothing we didn't like.
