Laxás Cottage

The cottage is cozy and has a lot of space. The location is remote and quiet. Bet it would be a good spot to see northern lights, if it hadn't been so cloudy.

The place is a little outdated and the floor in the bathroom is wonky. Anyways it was good value for money.

Is a cosy and comfortable cottage just off the main route 1 which is very convenient for a nights stopover. Good value.

Small bedrooms and beds with nowhere to put luggage. Cooking facilities inadequate for more than very basic meals with a small 2 hob stove with no oven. Bathroom facilities need to be completely refurbished. The shower is tiny and the bathroom floor has obviously suffered with water damage.

Hot tub, which is mentioned as an outstanding feature, was not functioning. Sadly, the host didn’t inform us in advance and problem was not solved during our stay. 3-bedroom house would be also much better with oven and dishwasher.

The location is good especially if your are doing the full Iceland circle shopping Route 1. Due to heavy snow our AWD SUV got stuck very close to the cottage, but our guest sorted it out quickly. They made our stay comfortable. Thanks.

The space is nice. Three bedrooms, a mud room and living room/kitchen. Great space for a family. We got in late so didn’t see the hot tub.

The shower was awful small. My kids and husband are all over 6 feet tall and even I had trouble fitting. The floors in the kitchen/living room are just plywood. Seems I fished to me. It is very clean and well decorated just unfinished. Also so many candles but no way to light one! Lol. Could use a washer and dryer? As we always seemed to be wet in Iceland.
