Mews Cottage

Lovely little cottage tucked away but within easy reach of town facilities and playground which the grandkids loved. Hosts very helpful and communication with them very easy.

Mews Cottage had everything we needed for our stay. The kitchen is sufficiently equipped to cook meals, but there are also immediately local options to eat out in the village. The bed was comfortable and the living area had enough space for us to relax during our downtime. The bathroom was well equipped and the hot water comes on pretty quickly. Information provided prior to our stay was comprehensive and the instruction/information folder in the cottage had everything else we needed to know. The hosts don't leave the router turned on between guests staying, so there was a bit of a faff to work out the exact process for getting the router to work, but the internet connection was solid while we were there. I did have some minor communication issues shortly after booking our stay, but this was entirely down to booking.com failing to notify me of new messages in my inbox. Just double check your messages when booking here as you'll get a comprehensive initial message sent to you. The hosts preference is that you book directly through them, so we will reccomend this option to any friends and family who we suggest Mews Cottage to and if we ever return here in the future. Unless you're trying to rack up stays to upgrade your booking.com genius score, then booking with the hosts directly will save you a bit of money.

There honestly wasn't really anything I can fault without getting extremely and uneccessarily nit picky. A very comfortable cottage in a great location.

Nothing not to like.

The cottage was very clean and the hosts left some nice biscuits, tea and coffee and other useful items.

The only problem we had was as my wife is disabled and the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom was downstairs.

The location was great the cottage was cosy.

It would be better if you had a place to dry your clothes if wet as no line, radiator, or tumble dryer.

Cottage is lovely, very clean and has everything you need in the way of utensils, cleaning products, extra blankets, white goods. Beds were comfy and there was a tv and WiFi. Situated in the centre of the village and easy to get to everything that Middleton in Teesdale has to offer. Good amount of parking available. Host left eggs and milk which was a lovely touch.

Excellent location in the village centre, close to all amenities. The welcome tray was a nice touch.

The instructions for use of the heating were over wordy and repetitive. Simplifying them into a few key points would be helpful.
