Be prepared to be woken at 7.30am by VERY loud church bells right on your doorstep.

The apartment had everything we needed. The very center of Città Alta. The owner was very nice. Even though he didn't speak English, we managed to communicate.

Surrounding near apartment is very noisy, what can be a big disadvantage. But it shouldn't surprise anyone because it's the center of an Old Town.

its perfectly located in the heart of Bergamo alta. Apartment was spacious and very cozy. Its perfectly equipped with I believe all you can need -any type of glasses, plates, ironing facilities, cleaning facilities, hairdryer, coffee, etc. It was also very clean. Liked it very much

1.When we arrived at Bergamo airport, we notified the host. We intended to take a taxi, but several taxi drivers refused due to the traffic and we took the bus. It took us more than 1 hour to reach Bergamo alta. We left the bus in a heavy thunderstorm, but we decided to walk as property appeared to be close. When we finally reached property, wet until bones, we were told that host has just left. I called him, but he said he does not speak english. In this moment I felt really bad. Indeed there were 2 hours since we landed, but delay was not due to our fault. I saw he has sent me in Booking.com 2 messages to ask for when we are going to reach the property, but I received them later. Fortunately the next door neighbor was speaking spanish as I did and she called him. He confirmed he is coming and came in 20 mins of our call. 2. Property is located on 4th floor. I counted 60+ steps, which were not problem for me, but were huge problem for my mother. So depends who you travel with. 3. During the first night of our stay, after dinner we realized that entrance door is not possible to be opened with the key, apparently damaged. It was 12 pm, but we had no choice than ringing to the neighbors begging to open us from inside. Fortunately someone showed mercey. On the next day I notified the host, he was aware of the problem. Some advices in advance would have been helpful. 4. Responses from host prior the travel were taking up to 24 hours, so I understand that reason is probably the language. We were planning to ask him some recommendations for restaurants, what to vist, etc, but he guided us to the tourist office, which is ok.

The apartment is in a beautiful old building.It is much bigger than it loooks in the photos,really roomy and spacious.It is spotlessly clean and has everything you need..It was lovely to open the windows in the morning and hear the church bells..We were late arriving but Franco was there to meet us.He was very kind and friendly.Grazie Franco.
