Excellent service and pleasant interactions with the host. The breakfast was wonderful; seasonal fruits, yogurt and toast. The host also provided the list of places to dine which is not on the tourist guide which was very affordable and greate experience to dine like a local.

Since it’s an old house, the staircase to go up to the bedroom was very steep. We are okay to handle it but it was hard for my 80 yrs old mother. But the host graciously offered to bring a set of futon downstairs so my mother didn’t have to deal with the stairs. Superbe service.

It was a great experience to live in a Japanese house. The house is clean and spacious, beautifully decorated, and fully equipped with daily needs. I also loved the quaint garden at the back of the house. The host is extremely hospitable and helpful too!

Guest house Yonemuraya was a pleasant surprise. It was so much better than staying at a hotel, as it felt like a more authentic Japanese experience. I travelled to Matsue for a conference at Kunibike Messe convention centre and this was only a short walk away. Emi-San was an excellent host, helping me with finding place for dinner, sightseeing and shopping ideas when I had time off work. There was a lively restaurant area nearby, and the train station, castle etc were within walking distance.

Within easy walking distance from the heart of Matsue, Guest House Yonemuraya provides a VERY-spacious home atmosphere, including a peaceful Japanese-style garden. There are no other guests in the house. The hostess is kind and extremely attentive while respecting your privacy. She serves wonderful breakfast (fruit, pastries yogurt, coffee, tea), at flexible times. My stay in Matsue was to attend a conference at Kunibiki Messe, reached by a pleasant 15-minute walk. The conference had exhaustive 12+ hour days and I am so glad to have stayed in a home atmosphere instead of a busy hotel. If I return to Matsue, I hope to stay Guest House Yonemuraya.
