GION KAWASEMI

Beautiful place. We were a group of 5 and it was able to accommodate us all. It's close to the bus stops and train station. Very easy check in and check out. It's also very close to a Lawson. The worker was so friendly and nice. The only con is that the place is slightly dusty. But you have to keep in mind this is an older building. Otherwise I had a lovely time here.

The place was gorgeous! You can really appreciate the unique architectural style of a traditional townhouse but still enjoy comfortable modern amenities. Despite the open architecture concept and dated infrastructure, the rooms were very adequately heat controlled. We were a group of two and had more space than enough space. I think a group of 4 is the best for the house to feel lively (we were honestly a little creeped out at night). The living room is a great space to chill in after a long day of walking (heated tatami tea area btw)! The bathroom was gorgeous and had a great view of the garden. I will say it might be easy to flash your party if you have the sliding door open in the bathroom. Also, some cool Kyoto teas, candies, and beverages were included in the stay which was a warm welcoming gift! The check in process was also very smooth!

The bath and shower were in the same room, so shower queue might get long. The bathroom sinks also had difficulty providing warm water even with the faucet turned all the way to hot. Lastly, I would say some mirrors in the half bathrooms would be useful so someone could brush their teeth/get ready while the full bath was occupied.

I absolutely loved how easy it was to check-in and check-out. Entering the premises after check-in was seamless. The cleanliness was the best I have ever seen in any stay I've had. It was very courteous of the host to come and give us a tour of the place after they were notified that we have checked into the rental.

It was rather difficult to find the rental at first. It is tucked away in a corner and you will need to enter a small passageway with a curtain to get to the front door. There are no signs that make it easy to spot the rental.

Amazing property in the heart of Gion

The bathroom was amazing!! Taking a nice hot shower then bath every night was worth it. The beds were super comfortable and the living room/kitchen was very spacious. The garden area was relaxing and I really enjoyed my stay here.
