It was very nicely decorated and comfortable and clean. Good sized house.

The front room had some street noise which could affect sleep.

Absolutely stunning property and much bigger than how I perceived from photos. Bathroom and tub are sublime after a long day walking and the vibes of the entire place are just perfection!

As others have stated the front room is quite loud from the street. Likely not a great place for light sleepers or young children. Our kids got familiar with using earplugs staying in there

Staying here was a highlight of our trip to Kyoto. Even though the location is very close to many attractions in Gion, it is still in a very quiet area so it's easy to forget you're in a large city, as it feels like a very private getaway. Soaking in the tub, overlooking the beautiful garden, is an amazing way to relax after wandering around the city all day. The property was very clean, too! The bedding was fresh, and the kitchen had everything you could need. Check-in and check out were very streamlined, and the staff that greeted us was very helpful! I will definitely be staying here again for any future trips to Kyoto!

They have the online check in system now, so no need to go to the office.

Central, clean, spacious, authentic Japanese, friendly staff

The bathroom wasn’t on the same floor as the bedrooms. Curtains could be thicker or more opaque to make the rooms darker in the early mornings.

The room was spacious and clean, very close to the shopping street . The reception staff is very friendly and will send guests to the accommodation for free .

The room facing the street is very bad, because there are often motorcycles or cars at night will make a lot of noise, which will affect sleep, the windows are not very soundproof.
