Cozy Corner House in Valletta - Authentic!

Location is good for visiting the North end attractions, and is accessible by car! Most of Valetta is not. Your Taxi can drop you off and pick you up right at the door (if you know which one it is). This is not true most of Valetta where you have to drag your bags through a warren of unfamiliar streets. There is a delightful mom and pop grocery store a very short walk up Republic. Conversely, the "tourist city" around Republic is up a steep hill - no problem for those who live there but not ideal for the mobility challenged.

I had to call the host to verify location. She had sent me pix and instructions, but I did not expect that my cell phone would not work upon arrival from the US (that was corrected later). I wished the location was better marked. There is a number 4 kind of hidden in the door frame (North St. side) and a plain number of an unrelated garage on the Republic St side. In the US, street numbers are always consecutive, odds on one side and evens on the other. this is not the case in Malta where street numbers go consecutively down one side and back up the other. Thus, when emerging from a taxi on the corner, with no cell service, confirming the correct door is a bit disorienting. I called our host, everything was fine, but was a bit intense at first (and probably inexplicable to Malti's).

Joelean and her daughter met us at the airport and for a reasonable fee brought us to the accommodation while also pointing out local shops and attractions. The location was outstanding - close to everywhere in Valletta you would want to go. The kitchen was well equipped and the castle-like decor was very well done and unusual. The apartment retained the warmth and the water was easily heated. Joelean was very responsive and helpful. Lots of useful brochures were close at hand.

While the property itself was exceptional, an upgrade on mattresses, bedclothes and bathroom facilities would make it a 10.

Incredibly beautiful. The flat looks like a movie location. All super clean and very well explained (loved the info of every electrical plug). The host was very helpful with clear information how to arrive.

The style and the decoration were amazing
